About the Role

Are you an ambitious sales professional looking to transition your career into a high-growth, stable commercial sector?

We are recruiting a Sales Executive on behalf of a market-leading surfacing contractor based in Solihull. The company designs, manufactures, and installs a comprehensive range of high-quality safety surfacing across the play, sports, and recreation sectors.

Serving a diverse and robust customer base—including Local Authorities, Town & Parish Councils, Housing Developers, Schools, and Trade Contractors—this role offers an exceptional pipeline of business development and account management opportunities.

Full Training Provided

You do not need prior surfacing experience to excel in this role. Our client provides comprehensive initial and ongoing training covering their entire technical product range (including hybrid grass, artificial turf, rubber mulch, and resin-bound aggregates) as well as target market routes.

Initially, you will attend joint sales meetings alongside senior team members to learn the ropes, understand client requirements, and master the solution proposal process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Management: Develop and nurture relationships with an existing customer base to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Targeted Business Development: Promote the company’s range of construction-related surfacing solutions and installation services to new-build developers, educational bodies, and local authorities.
  • Territory Growth: Ensure current business levels are maintained while actively investigating new commercial opportunities within your designated West Midlands territory.
  • Project Lifecyle Delivery: Listen to customer needs, generate accurate technical solution quotes, and follow up on orders through to successful site handover.

What We Are Looking For (Transferable Skills):

We welcome applications from target-driven individuals with relatable sales experience from at least one of the following backgrounds:

  • Property & Housing: Estate Agents, Senior Negotiators, or New-Build Sales Executives looking to move into a Mon–Fri commercial B2B environment.
  • Construction Products: Sales professionals with experience selling technical construction products, building materials, or housebuilder services.
  • Sector-Specific Sales: Sales experience gained within the surfacing, landscaping, commercial gardening, playground, or play equipment sectors.
  • Key Attributes: The ability to absorb technical product information, brilliant listening skills, and a genuine passion for delivering customer-focused solutions.
  • Mobility: A full, valid UK driving licence is essential to complete regional site visits and client meetings.
